Potty Training Update!
I picked up Lucy yesterday from daycare and she was in the same clothes as when I dropped her off! Dry all day! Woohoo!!!
I had a Dale Carnegie class in the evening, so right after dinner I left the house.
At the first break, I checked my phone to find this text message from Matt: "Giant poop! Most in the potty!"
I called right away but no answer.
Here is the story that I found out later:
Matt set up the computer to Lucy could talk to her Grandma (Matt's mom) on Skype. Lucy served tea and had a good time with Grandma.
Then Matt got a phone call from Discover card. As he was talking, Lucy yelled "Potty!" and ran to the bathroom.
The next thing Matt heard was "Daddy! I pooped!"
Matt ran to the bathroom to find (in his own words) "a MAN poop" in the little potty and a turd on the floor!
Not bad for no supervision!
Hopefully she is dry and clean when I pick her up today. Go Lucy!!!

Potty Training
It's official! Lucy is learning to use the potty!
We started Saturday. I bought the book Potty Wise by Gary Ezzo & Robert Bucknam, but didn't end up using it. At the same time, I bought the book Making the "Terrible" Twos Terrific by John Rosemond which had a chapter in it about potty training.
The idea in Potty Wise is that you put the kid on the potty over and over giving them tons of treats. I don't know about you, but that sounds like a whole lot of work to me.
In the Twos book, Rosemond says to look for signs of readiness, show them the potty, and put undies on them. They will figure it out on their own. The less intervention the better because learning the potty is about independence.
Well, Saturday was a cooking day for me, so I put her in undies. She had 3 accidents in the morning and went on the potty 6 times in the afternoon/evening.
Sunday was a little crazy with church & going to my parents' house for lunch.
Monday she went to day care in panties and returned in a diaper. I was SO bummed by this!
Tuesday she peed on my mom's lap. Not a good move!
Today, she had one accident! She got up and went in the potty, went on the potty once at daycare and then once at home. I think she is scared of the potty at daycare or something. Oh well! We will see how it goes tomorrow!
Every time today while she was home, she told us she had to go potty and I just watched as she did it all. I think we are going down the right path! :)

Life in Crazy Town!
As many of you know, we are a little crazy around here. Matt has always tried to temper my crazy liked my crazy, but now I have a little crazy side kick! Here are some of the fun and silly things we have been up to for the past month.
Fireplace: It's in! The crazy part of this was that we ordered the brick, but the guy who was actually supposed to order it from the supplier was fired before ordering it and no one realized it. It was in a few days before Christmas and we LOVE it!
Christmas morning opening stockings:
This is what Lucy looks like first thing in the morning when she is given a sock full of goodies! Look at her HAIR!!!
Speaking of hair: She got a TON of bows and clips in her stocking. She wanted to wear all o them. She also is on a HUGE chap stick binge right now. She got some in her stocking too!
An Angel! We saw this run by us and started dying of laughter! What could it be? She said "I'm an ANGEL!!!!" Apparently my lace waste, cherry print undies worn on her head made her feel angelic! I guess you just have to picture wings attached???
The potty chair... as a dinner chair? At this point you may be thinking: "what is going on over there???" Well, Lucy wanted to eat a waffle in the living room on a Saturday morning, and since I wanted to eat breakfast there too, she rigged up this little set up. I call it creative! (Now if only she would use the potty chair as a potty chair!)
An Endangered Species: the blue headed butterfly
Aunt Rachel gave Lucy butterfly wings that hung from the ceiling. With a little revamping, we made them wearable. Those are my old blue tights! I cut the legs off to make a harness thing and she decided to use the waist part for a headdress. Gotta love her creativity!
Matt caught the critter in the dog cage too! What a catch!
Bowl Helmet Lucy was told to put a bowl away, and instead got out all of the bowls in the drawer. This one became a hat. She was putting it over her eyes and walking around like she was invisible. I love her smile on this picture! No eyes!
It's genetic: Where does she get this craziness? From her mother!!! These cupcakes were really tasty! Lucy and I had a litter dinner party with a place set for Grandma who is far away. YUMMY!
That is what we have been up to! General silliness and a lot of laughing!

"Mommy, I have cheese..."
It has been so hard to sit down and blog lately. I think I will try during my lunch break some days which is where I am today, so there won't be any pictures.
Last night, I put Lucy in bed like normal which involves bed time story and prayer with Daddy, then laying in bed for one song with Mommy, and then I leave.
Sometimes Lucy tries to get me to stay, so I normally listen for distress, but ignore all other attempts at going back in her room.
Last night, I kept hearing her say "Mommy, I have cheese." ...over and over.
My initial thought was "What is she saying that would sound like 'I have cheese'? 'I just peed...' 'I have ???'" At this age, we age we are always guessing what she is saying. I decided to just ignore her.
At 12:45pm, I woke to Lucy screaming; she has been having nightmares. I run in to comfort her and about laugh out loud!
There is REAL CHEESE in her bed! She WAS saying "Mommy, I have cheese"!!!!!
It was one of those little cheese discs that are individual serving size. I had gotten one out for Lucy for dinner but then didn't give it to her and slipped it in my pocket. Since I forgot about it, it must have fallen out of my pocket while we were singing. Oops!
